Content Cleaning

What is CLEAN?  Servpro of Milwaukee North follows specific criteria for determining restorability; contents are divided into 4 categories: porous, non-porous, semi-porous, and special. 

• Porous Contents include - clothing, stuffed animals, bedding, certain furniture, mattresses, etc.  Each item requires inspection for damage severity and a cost benefit analysis before cleaning can begin.
• Non-porous - silverware, dishes, cooking items, etc.  These items can be cleaned with great success; heat damage is a big factor in determining damage severity.
• Semi-porous - leather, clay, wood, etc.  Blending characteristics of both categories these items can be cleaned with success but should also be evaluated for damage severity and cost.
• Special - Electronics, jewelry, fur coats, etc.  Servpro of Milwaukee North will consult with third-party specialists to help determine clean ability.

Contents Pack-out & Inventory Service

Servpro of Milwaukee North has been working with customer's contents for 13 years; we have developed a system of customer support and documentation to help return items to normal.  An informational sheet is linked: Servpro of Milwaukee North Contents Survey; This sheet is designed to help our Southeastern Wisconsin customers take an inventory of their important items when disaster strikes.  Take time to read and complete the form; with good documentation each company who helps restore your life will understand exactly what needs to be done.

When contents require removal from the structure it is important to ask what inventory management tool will be used to track everything?  Servpro of Milwaukee North uses photographs to capture what the item looks like when we packed it and which room it came from.  These photos can be emailed and recognized easier than paper lists.  Pictures of each item are then organized in relation to what box they were packed in and what room the box came from.  Servpro of Milwaukee North utilizes 5000sqft. climate controlled storage at our facility to keep your items as close to our position as possible. 

Each pack-out project is documented to help customers return to their life - disaster changes personal outlooks but contents can help restore good memories.

Content Valuation

Servpro of Milwaukee North understands some contents cannot be cleaned and restored due to severe water damage or fire damage; the next step for items which need to be replaced is properly documenting their replacement value.  Inspection and documentation is required in order to create a list to begin determining equivalent matches.  When contents are lost often times exact matches cannot be located; this is an unfortunate circumstance. The term: "Like, Kind & Quality" will need to be used to find resolution.  At this point, Servpro of Milwaukee North uses their resources to help the insured price their items.

Dry Ice Blasting

Dry Ice Blasting is similar to sand blasting except dry ice can turn from a solid directly into a gas thus eliminating a large part of the clean-up.  Dry Ice is also softer on the material that is blasted.  Servpro of Milwaukee North has the ability to restore wood back to its original color.  The pictures below show before and after our company dry ice blasted:
